What do you know about self-adhesive printing film?It was inspired by postage stamps created in the 18th century. And the first sticky glue was invented by the pharmacist Oskar Troplovice for adhesive plaster. In 1935, a young entrepreneur, Stanton Avery, combined labels and adhesive tapes, which became very convenient for street advertising. Stanton formed Avery Dennison. It is she who owns the technology of cutting, notching, incl. rotary, new methods of applying the adhesive base.
In 1980, the first copies of modern self-adhesive stickers went on sale from the ZM company, and a year later they became the most demanded product in a new market segment. Many printing houses have adopted the experience of their manufacture.
Nowadays, you can choose a sticker with the most suitable adhesive base. For example, if reusable glass containers are to be labeled, the glue should be washed off with minimal effort. Well, if the label should firmly “sit” on a very rough surface, a completely different adhesive composition is used.
