November 24 is the birthday of the world famous American psychologist, educator and writer Dale Breckenbridge Carnegie. Who does not know the name of the author of the bestselling book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” today?
Carnegie was born on the Maryville farm in Missouri. He lived in a poor family, and yet he entered the State Teachers College in Warrensburg and received a good education. Dale Carnegie’s financial situation caused him some uncertainty and, in an effort to overcome it, he in every possible way looked for opportunities to be different from others. As a student, Dale successfully practiced oratory in various student discussions, and soon, quite unexpectedly for himself, discovered some ways of effectively communicating with people. In his books, Carnegie described the concept of conflict-free and successful communication.
For the first time, Carnegie’s book was published in 1936, but to this day it remains relevant and in demand.
In honor of Dale Carnegie’s birthday, the United States invented a holiday – Friends’ Day, which is celebrated in a fun atmosphere in nature or at a themed party.
