Comic Book Day!
September 25 in the USA – Comic Book Day! Comics as we imagine them appeared in the United States in 1892 in The San Francisco Examiner. In 1894, the World Printing House installed the first four-color machine, and the resulting prints no longer looked like scrambled eggs and tomatoes.
On November 18, World released the first really successful comic in the Sunday issue. Richard F. Outkolt, a draftsman for Electric World, supplied her with comic strips featuring a clown and a shepherd dog. This is how the first comic series appeared in the Sunday newspaper. The prototype of comics is found in the 18th century in satirical illustrations by William Hogarth (English artist).
In the 20th century, comics have become one of the popular genres of mass culture. By this time, comics had largely lost the comic for which they got their name. Adventure has become the main genre of comics: action films, detective stories, horror, fantasy, stories about superheroes.
