Book with heat sensitive pages
Charles Nipel’s Dutch laboratory, which is part of the Jan van Eyck Academy (Institute of Fine Arts and Design), has created a book with heat-sensitive pages that remain completely black until the reader blasts them with fire 🔥 The laboratory awarded this ability with a very aptly titled book – “Fahrenheit 451” by Ray Bradbury. The epigraph of the novel states that the ignition temperature of the paper is 451°F. The plot of the novel, published in 1953, is based on the history of a utopian America, where books are banned and firefighters are ordered to burn any they find. This makes the concept of the book just cosmically cool💣 When you “burn” a book, you read it. The pages are covered with a layer of special black ink that disappears when heated. Book pages are fireproof. A match is inserted into the cover of the book instead of the number “1” in the title. The spine is shaped like the surface of a matchbox grater so that the book can be set on fire. The creators of this experimental book are planning to put it into production.
