World car free day
Today we urge you to be responsible for the future of our Planet! September 22 – World Car Free Day! In big cities, there is often no overcrowding because of the cars. They pollute the air, get stuck in traffic jams, and get into accidents. World Car Free Day provides an excuse to pay attention to these inconveniences at least once a year and choose an alternative. Residents of cities can refuse to travel by car and walk, ride a bike or use public transport.
For example, in Paris, you can rent a bicycle for this day for free – you just need to show an ID card – and the central streets are closed for cars.
The idea of a car-free day was first proposed in 1994. England was the first to take the initiative in 1997, marking the date on a national scale, followed by France in 1998. In some cities, similar actions were carried out even earlier, since 1973, in connection with the oil crisis.
In Ukraine, this action has not yet gained popularity. But everything happens for the first time. So why not today? ✌️ World Car-Free Day is a great way to get to work by public transport, on foot or by bike.
