Today is rich in events: All Saints Day, Vegan Day and Social Workers Day in Ukraine, 60 days left before the New Year!
This time we will tell you about our favorite coated offset paper.
It is used wherever presentational appearance of printed matter is important. The image is bright, clear, the material shines beautifully and is more pleasant to the touch than uncoated material.
Coated paper is the result of applying one or more coating layers (a mixture of chalk, kaolin and binders) to the base.
To reduce the absorbency, it is glued: at the time of finishing (with surface gluing) or in bulk. Binders for gluing – rosin, synthetic additives.
To regulate the “bulk” and transparency of the paper, calendering is done: pressed with heated rolls, then dried. The more intensive the calendering, the less transparent and “puffy” the material.
Glossy coated paper is optimal for bright booklets with pictures, matte paper is preferable for printing periodicals, books, printing with a large amount of text.
