Varnishing
Today we will focus on one of the most common types of post-printing processing – varnishing.
It is a highly efficient process that can change the impression of a printer’s work, giving it a better look, a pleasant tactile feel, added protection from the outside and improved durability.Examples of the three most common types of varnishing:
1) Offset varnish is the most affordable, it comes in several shades – from super gloss to dark matte, the main function is to protect the product.
2) VD varnish is a water-based varnish (this must be remembered when choosing the material to be processed and the type of paint applied to it), environmentally friendly, the main field of application is food packaging solutions and products for children, the main functionality is protection and visual component.
3) UV varnish. This group of varnishes stands out against the general background in that after being applied to products and treated with ultraviolet radiation, it dries almost instantly, plus UV varnishes are absolutely harmless and products processed by this method can be recycled.
The main functionality is protection and a visual component, selective application to the surface (if desired) through which unique tactile effects can be achieved, an additional decorative component in the form of odors or sparkles (glitters).
