Today we will tell you about the use of recycled paper. More than 100 million trees are cut down for its production every year. Fortunately, paper does not have to be made from virgin raw materials. Waste paper will do too! What is obtained from it: writing paper, box, binding and container cardboard, kraft paper, disposable tableware, newspapers, books, napkins and paper towels, toilet paper, heat and sound insulation materials, fuel pellets and briquettes, fabrics for clothes, ecowool for construction.
In Europe and the USA, most of the used paper is actively recycled (about 60%, for example, in the CIS countries less than 20%). Huge amounts of cellulose waste are exported. In developed countries, this business has not been new for a long time, its owners are steadily receiving income, and the profit is growing from year to year. It was calculated that in 10-15 years the demand for waste paper will outstrip supply by several million tons.
More than 65% of all waste paper in the world is purchased from Asia. The leaders in the import of paper waste are: China, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia and South Korea, Canada, Mexico and India.
There are several factories in Ukraine that use recyclable materials for the production of paper products – in Kiev, Obukhov, Lutsk, Zhidachev, Korostyshev and Zmiev. As an example, the Zmievskaya factory in the Kharkiv region produces book, writing, offset, newsprint, craft paper, cover paper, which are actively used by printing houses in our city.
